Why margarine could be killing you!

       This is interesting . .. .

Margarine  was originally manufactured to fatten  turkeys.  When it killed the turkeys, the people who had put  all the money into the research wanted a payback so they put their  heads together to figure out what to do with this product to get  their money back. 

It was a white substance with no food appeal  so they added the yellow colouring and sold it to people to use in place of butter.  How do you like it?   They have come out  with some clever new flavourings..    

DO  YOU KNOW.. The difference between margarine and butter?  

Read on to the end…gets very interesting!    

Both  have the same amount of calories…

Butter  is slightly higher in saturated fats at 8  grams; compared   to 5 grams for margarine.

Eating margarine can increase  heart disease in women by 53% over   eating the same amount of butter, according to a recent  Harvard  Medical Study.

Eating butter increases the absorption of many other nutrients in  other foods.

Butter  has many nutritional benefits where margarine has a few and  
only  because  they are added!

Butter  tastes much better than margarine and it can enhance the flavours of  other foods.

Butter  has been around for centuries where margarine has been around for less than 100 years .

And now, for Margarine..

Very High in Trans fatty acids.

Triples risk of coronary
heart disease .
Increases  total cholesterol
and LDL (this is the bad cholesterol) and  lowers HDL cholesterol, (the good cholesterol)

Increases  the risk of cancers up to five times..

Lowers  quality of breast milk.

Decreases immune response.

Decreases  insulin response.

And  here’s the most disturbing fact…… HERE  IS  THE  PART  THAT  IS  VERY INTERESTING!

Margarine  is but ONE  MOLECULE  away  from being PLASTIC… and shares 27 ingredients with paint

These facts alone were enough to have me avoiding margarine for life  and anything else that is hydrogenated (this means hydrogen is  added,  changing the molecular structure of the  substance).  

You  can try this yourself:

Purchase  a tub of margarine and leave it open in your garage or shaded  area.  Within a couple of days you will notice a couple of things:

*  no flies, not even those pesky fruit flies will go near it  (that should tell you something)

*  it does not rot or smell differently because it has no nutritional value ; nothing will grow on it. Even those teeny weeny microorganisms will not a find a home to grow.  Why?   Because it is nearly plastic .  Would you melt your Tupperw are and  spread that  on your toast?

Vedepo is no stranger to the big stage. He fought on two UFC fight night’s and most recently KO’ed his last opponent Webster Farris  in 0:14 seconds into the first round.

Oli Thompson primed and ready for ZT Heavyweight Tournament!

With only one day left for ZT Fight Night- The Tournament, Oli Thompson has peaked in great condition,ready to take the title and £10,000 prize.
 Not only is he in the best shape ever, his cardio is through the roof as he kills it through gruelling rounds lasting 5 minutes each, with only one minute rest between rounds. Week 3 of the New Year- New You programme!

…and I’m feeling great! The 15 other lucky people to have joined me on the 28 day programme are already reporting:

* Increased energy levels
* Better sleep
* Better skin condition
* Weight and fat loss
* Improved nail condition
* Improved concentration
* Better ability to wake up in the mornings!

As part of the programme, we’ve all given up wheat which is not tolerated by many and easily stored as bodyfat. Instead we’ve been eating carbs like beans, vegetables, rye, fruit and my favourite Spelt.

Spelt is an ancient grain, which unlike Wheat has not been altered by man, and is easily digested by us.

So yesterday I had a go at making my own Spelt bloomer using an easy recipe passed on to me by Lynne Norman.

SPELT BREAD

650G Doves Spelt Flour
2 tsp Sea Salt
15g Soft Organic Butter
Sachet of Yeast
400ml Water (100ml warm, 300ml cold)

– Rub butter into flour and add salt, and stif in yeast.
– Add warm water to form a soft dough
– Knead for 10mins on a floured surface
– Cover and leave to rise in a warm place for half an hour until it has doubled in size
– Bake in a pre-heated oven at 230oC for half an hour.

You can also add dried fruit and nuts for a sweet version.

Eqpt: Med Ball, , 2 x Dumbells, Bungee, Tornado ball, Kettlebells
1.    Warm up- MMA Matrix- Join Mobility
2.    Circuit: 5 mins – 2-3 times. 40-60 secs rest between circuits
·       Row 300m- level 10 in 60 seconds
·       30 seconds take down defence
·       30 seconds Tornado ball slams
·       30 seconds bungee sprints
·       30 seconds hand switch press ups
·       30 seconds take down defense
·       30 seconds kettlebell guard-hold
·       30 seconds bungee crawls
·       30 seconds hand switch press ups
·       60 seconds on concept 2 rower@ level 10 (aim for 270m)
